Symphony field trip

Dear Parents-

This Thursday is the symphony field trip for all day students.  We will be walking for the symphony.  All parent volunteers, Rey's mom, Elipxis' dad, A.T.'s grandma, Leandro's mom, and Patrick's mom, are asked to arrive at 8:30 am so we can depart.  We ask that everyone please be on time due to constraints around the trip.  We will be returning to the campus at 11:30.  Please let us know if you have any questions.

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Please join faculty, staff and children from Faith North/FNM@ Shaw for our annual Holiday Tax Credit Concert Monday, December 5 – 6 pm at Herrera School located at 1350 South 11^th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85034.

Children should arrive no later than 5:30 pm. They will be shown to a classroom where they will wait until they perform and then return to after their performance. The teachers will release the children to their parents at the conclusion of the concert.

For this event children should be presented in concert attire. No jeans, t-shirts or sneakers. Moreover, please assist me in reminding your child to bring their instrument and music to school the day of the concert.

Parents-
Please do not send candy with your child to school or allow them to eat candy for breakfast.  Children who consume even a few pieces of candy before school have a difficult time in the classroom.

International Children's day Celebration on 10/26

International Children’s Day Celebration

On Wednesday, October 26th we will be celebrating International Children’s Day.  This is a day designed to celebrate our diverse cultural community. Discuss with your child his/her ethnic heritage.  Choose one that is either prevalent in your family or one that you and your child would like to learn about.  With your child, put together a traditional costume or parts of one that they may wear that day for our “Small World Parade.” Then, prepare a food that is also symbolic of the heritage the child represents to bring and share in “A Small World Potluck.”  Festivities begin with a parade at 10:20 at FNM@Shaw and 10:45 at FN Main.  The potlucks will be enjoyed by the children in their respective classrooms.

El miércoles 26 de Octubre en Faith North Montessori estaremos celebrando el Día International de las Ninos.  Este es un día para celebrar la diversidad cultural de nuestra comunidad.  Hable con su hijo/a de su herencia étnica.  Escoja una que sea prevalente o que solo sea divertido para aprender.  Junto con su hijo/a, arregle un traje tradicional o partes de uno que ellos puedan usar ese día para nuestro desfile cultural.  Después, prepare una comida que es también algo simbólica de la cultura que ellos representan para traerlo a la clase y compartirlo en “ Una comida de un mundo pequeño”.  Las festividades comenzaran con un desfile a las 10:20 at FNM@Shaw and 10:45 at FN Main.

Birthday Celebration reminder

Birthday celebration's are scheduled for your child during the week of their birthday.  If possible bring a picture of him/her at birth and a picture for each year of his/her life.  You are also welcome to bring a healthy snack to share with the class (26 students)... please  no cupcakes, cookies, etc.  We eat lunch from 11:30-12 if you would like to join us.  Adult lunches are $2.25 and can be purchased at the cafeteria.  I look forward to seeing you!  Please make sure to schedule the preferred date of your child's celebration with Ms. Jodi at least one day in advance

Fall Festival

  The Fall Fest and Fun Event will be Oct. 28th from 5:30-8:00pm.
15 Carnival booths
 a sock it to the teachers event,
 a jello eating contest
basket raffles
 a rummage sale
 an art, origami, and jewelry sale
 a DJ with live music and dinner. (There will be different options for Dinner)

Lots of candy and prizes, you will not need to trick or treat after this event.
Tickets will be (4) for $1.00 (25) for $5.00 and (50) for $10.00

Take home readers

Please make sure to send your child's take home readers back to school on Monday and Thursday so your child may pick a new book!

No school October 10-14 due to fall break.  All day students please turn in your money and fieldtrip permission slips as soon as possible.

Early Dismissal

Thursday September 22 and Friday September 23 all day students will be released at 1:20.

Passport to Montessori from the classroom to the home

Primary Parent education night  Wednesday September 14th at the Shaw campus.  Parents will receive volunteer hours for attending this mandatory event.

Faith North Montessori Kindergarten Graduation

May 24th 2011 in the Multipurpose room at 6:00.
Graduates please report to your classroom by 5:30!

Family Literacy Night this Wednesday April 27th starting at 5:30!  We will be at the Burton Bar Library!

Make up at school????????

Please make sure your child leaves their make-up at home (lip gloss, nail polish....).  The class has already had one rug destroyed due to spilled fingernail polish and we would hate for any additional materials to be harmed.
